Smith Lumen and This Unique: Together to overcome the taboo of Menstruation
For the second year, we participated in Brand Revolution, a supply chain event that brings together clients, agencies and suppliers to promote new forms of expression and creativity.
This year we were paired with This Unique, an Italian start-up that offers an online subscription service for eco-friendly, plastic-free tampons, with an irreverent and contemporary approach to overcoming the taboos still associated with the menstrual cycle.
Working closely with the client, we developed concepts on different materials for the B2C and B2B channels, with the aim of not only promoting the product, but also encouraging an open and positive conversation about the issue.
“For the B2B sector, we wanted a bold product that would stand out in the common environments where it is installed and open up communication on the subject”, says Lisa Iannello, co-founder of This Unique. “The wheel responds to this by creating a kaleidoscope of ironic messages and housing two refillable tampon dispensers. It is also complemented by stickers with humorous phrases to put a smile on people’s faces and improve their mood.
“For the B2C channel, we created a fun and appealing box that is perfect for reuse and display” , says Anna Maria Ledda, Creative Designer at Smith Lumen. “Thanks to the use of glow-in-the-dark paint, it glows in the dark, can be hung and, of course, is refillable to use less paper.”
The result is a range of products, packaging and dispensers that are not only colourful and cheerful, but are made using only sustainable materials to help the planet.
The project was realised in collaboration with VariGrafica, Ico and Cordenons, who supported us and made an excellent result possible.
Our project team, led by Creative Director Gianluca Invernizzi and Head of Strategy Giorgia Corte, included Anna Maria Ledda, Creative Designer, Matteo Annacondia, Head of Production and Camilla Temelini, Senior Account.
